some cards

A christmas card finally made, well actually I have made a few. This one was made using HOTP papers, magnolia stamped images coloured in with the trusty prisma colours , and the letters cut out using the hippy chick alphabet on my big shot.

This is one of three I was asked to make, for someone who wanted cards for people who had a bereavement in the family. They are very simple cards, with a silver embossed card and white card embossed with snowflakes , then a rubber stamped image embossed in silver pearl.Gives a hint of christmas without being christmassey (?)

This is a card made from a cd i have. mounted on Black mirri card onto a gold card. I used some sticky jewels in black on the opposite corners then added the ribbon and bow

Lesson learned

I bet reading this title you think that i have done something incredibly stupid???
Well I haven't i have done something I am rather chuffed with actually...

After Ann Marie's lesson the other week I have had a few more goes at the bracelet she taught me how to do, but Had a play, using 2 colours as below...

and the using a few more rows of pattern to make more of a cuff bracelet.

.... 2 posts in 24 hours....lol I am on a roll, mind you i did try and send a post via my mobile phone but am still waiting for the code to come through so I can link my phone blog so that it will post them on here ! ok here is some jewellery bits i have made and my cute model.

this one above is my first successful attempt at bead stitching. I was taught to do it by Ann Marie , if you click on her blog link you will see some of her lovely examples, so big hugs and thanks to Ann Marie for her patience. Have made 2 more but will take pics of those later .

Below is my lovely little model who tests out my jewellery for me to make sure that the links, knots etc are firm...

Still Alive

OMG 7 nearly 8 weeks since i last updated this how bad am I . Ok so down to the nitty gritty waffly stuff. Whats been happening.............

Well the boys went back to school, broke up for October half term and have gone back again. Nathan has started his duke of Edinburgh award , in fact he is up the Wrekin today orienteering, rock climbing and litter picking ( yes this is part of the environment section of the scheme). Callum is plodding along, he has been doing pottery at school these past few days making a candle holder for the Diwali festival that they are learning about in school. He is also practicing hard for the version of grease the drama group is putting on next year .. I so can't Wait to see him in that and I will most definitely post pictures as and when. He will also be assigned his part in the christmas school play soon, and as he is in year 6 he will have a part rather than being consigned to the choir like the other 4 years.

Marcus, well he has turned one, is running round like an Olympic athlete. I am thinking of signing him up with the government as a spy as that boy can shift so fast and silently it is unbelievable. His speech is coming on great he is picking up words wonderfully. His favourite a few weeks ago was "ohhh Buggerrrr" which he picked up very quickly off his daddy!! Well i shall post some pics as it gets boring with just words, these are from Marcus's first birthday

Nathan has to try everything for size and this time his bum is to large and it got STUCK!

I made the images from some dies i had

Just Like A Bus

Nothing for ages then 3 at once...lol These are 3 cards i made for my mum to give to her 3 friends who are going into hospital over the next few weeks.To keep things quick and simple i used the same image coloured in with prisma pencils just used different colour ways. Still have a few more to make 2 more get well cards ( seem to be having a run on them at the moment) a birthday card or 2 and a thinking of you card. I have also had a chance to play with myBeads so will post those later on.

The summer holidays are nearly over 7 more sleeps to go. Uniform is all sorted and ironed ready for Monday . Ian is away on his usual 3 week jaunt to Cornwall, I should just be getting back into the old routine when he comes home again.

new Nathan

Nathan finally got his hair dyed today , i didn't know what to expect but was plesantly suprised, it doesn't look that bad, can't you tell he was woken up at 9.30 to be ready to go over to my friends house for 10.15 lol he still hasn't woken up

I am hoping that Ian will be home from work early today or that Marcus will go down for a nap this afternoon as i WANT TO PLAY with my beads.

Another week gone

and i didn't even notice. Mum came up to stay last Friday and to pick up her new kitten "Poppy" She was supposed to be going home on Tuesday but we all came down with a stomache bug on Saturday, except for mum who was kind enough to Waite till we had all got through Sunday before it was her turn. At least it missed Marcus. So mum didn't go home until today. It was nice to see her, we WERE going to have a crafty weekend, but that went out the window, but i did manage to make a get well card for Ian's mum as she went into hospital on Tuesday to have her toe fused (OUCHH) and today i made a card for my mum to give to her friend for her 50th birthday, Boy was that one a pain to do, i knew what i wanted to do with it but would it do it !! it even broke my paper trimmer !!!! Had a visit from the lovely Ann Marie on Wednesday aswell as she was on business in this neck of the woods, anyway will quit my wafflings now before i send you all to sleep, attached is get well card for Ian's mum

the past 7 days

Last Saturday we went to Nottingham to go and stay with Ian's mum and to help sort out the garden. Where there once was a big pond there is now a raised flower bed, covered with slate.

Ian and callum set to work rebuilding the wall in places and laying slabs around the edge

New Shoes

Today we took Marcus to get his first pair of cruising shoes from clarks. he is a size 3. the sales assistance in the store were great and they even take a photo as a memento of their first pair of shoes. How sweet is that . He had a definite opinion on which pair of shoes he wanted , he was shown 4 different pairs and he kept giving 3 of he others back to me or his dad and picking the same pair to keep for himself over and over again.

Great Aunt Tilda

Put this card together today, has taken a scrapbook page feel to it. The only thing that is missing is the title Great Aunt Tilda Bognor 1800 and something ....
I coloured this image in to TRY and look like one of those sepia images as the image reminded me of one of those old fashioned photos you see from the early 1900's of the women bathing in their clothes.

truck racing

What a nice peaceful day i nearly had on Sunday, Ian and callum went to Donington Park, to meet up with Grandma to go and watch truck racing, monster trucks and pick up racing.. Callum is mad about pick ups... They both came back rather well cooked as it was rather hot there , same as here really. Nathan was at his mates house over night so until about 4pm it was just me and the little man.

Then came MONDAY ARGGGGHHH . Nathan finally had his braces fitted, and boy did we know about it. I do empathise with him, as any one who has had a brace will know how much they make your teeth ache for the first few days because they are so tight but my word did he whinge about it ...I have come to the conclusion my eldest son is a big jessie when it comes to pain, and boy is he gonna suffer from man flu ...!!!!! I really don't know if i can handle this every 6 weeks for 3 YEARS!!!!!! OMG it doesn't bear thinking about... He wants his ear pierced but i am now thinking ok we have said yes you can have it done BUT where is mum going to go stay for the first few days after he has had it done !!! Me thinks i will go visit on my own with my mummy i am sure she will let me hide out there, mind you i bet it will be "Only if you bring Marcus" ohh yes and her new poppy cat .

WOW What a storm we had last night, it rolled in about 7pm, and i fell asleep just after midnight it was still rolling around. Marcus wasn't very happy about the storm , so we ended up putting some music on (as the rain was so heavy it knocked out the sky signal) and danced round the front room for a while which kept him nicely distracted through the worst of it . I can highly recommend Gabriella Cilmi's lessons to be learned album.

Today is cooler , and i feel so much happier now. I am not a hot weather person, warm i can do but hot ??? NAHHH

WOW Friday allready

Where has this week gone ?? First week of the summer holidays has gone by, not seen much of Nathan and Callum as the weather has been good so they have been out most of the time, and having sleep overs in tents... seems to be the latest craze this summer. I think i am going to put an In/out board by the front door for them as I seem to constantly be answering the door to thier friends !!!
Marcus has been busy cutting another tooth , he cut it yesterday so that is 4 in 10 days !!
I haven't made any cards this week as haven't had chance to , but i have been sat colouring images in of the evening so have plenty just need the time to put them together.

Marcus cut another top tooth today so that makes a grand total of 3 in a week !
Nathan went to the orthadontist today and had his spacers fitted, ready for having his braces fitted next week. The dental nurse told Nathan to make the most of this week, as it the last week he can eat toffee, chewing gum, jelly sweets, crusty bread and his finger nails (!) for the next 3 years....lol

new teeth

afternoon,


as the post suggests Marcus cut his 4th tooth yesterday the 2nd one in a week, but this time he has decided to cut 4 at once!!! So as I am sure you can imagine his changes of moods are amazing(not as good as a women with PMT and no chocolate though). On friday i couldn't go out of his line of sight and if i did i was walking round with this human limpit hanging of my leg !!! Today he is a bit up and down, we are at the stage of his life where the word "NO" is coming into play, you know that phase that lasts at least ohhhhh 18 years ! When you tell him No now, he stops, looks at you then shakes his head, trouble is he moves the whole of his upper body when he does it, and looks so funny, and have to try not to laugh too much if he wobbles and falls over....

Tomorrow is officialy the first day of the summer holidays, I don't know what is wrong with Nathan as yesterday morning when marcus woke up again at about 8.30, nathan came in our room and asked if we wanted him to go and take Marcus with him as he didn't mind. I swear if I hadn't been lying down i would have fell down in shock....lol!!!! By 10am both callum AND Nathan were out of the house !! Shock horror Nathan is tuning into a typical teenager of a weekend if he has got his head off the pillow by 10am it's a miracle.

cards 4 teachers

Have been busy tonight putting these cards together for callums teacher and his support teacher, really threw me this year as his teacher is Male. I also had a light bulb moment and decided to get the shrink plastic out and make some keyrings to match. thats the little image hanging over the card, have put glossy accents on them since taking this picture.

Look what Callum got today, he finally shut up long enough for someone to teach him how to swim, most of the family have tried but he knows better than everyone else who can all ready swim if you know what i mean!!! But well done to him .... at last.

Pink 'N' Black

This was inspired by a comment Nathan made , about the magnolia images that i should colour some in as emos/goths . (or emus as i have heard them called on occasion) so here she is and the pink well nathan keeps saying he is going to have pink and black rubber bands on his braces when he gets them fitted.... he goes to get his spacers fitted next Monday!!!!
